Port Moselle

Located in the Bay of Moselle in the city center, you’ll find the largest marina in New Caledonia which has all the necessary services to its users. It is managed by the company SODEMO.

Entry point for boaters

The port includes a large seating capacity with 90 dry berths for boats on trailers, and 550 places afloat. However, if space is missing, 4 other marinas are present in the Moselle port area: South Port Marina Bay located in the Orphanage Bay, the Marina Nautical Club Caledonian (CNC) in the Fishermen bay, Nouville Plaisance, Sunset Marina and the Port Brunelet marina that are on the other side of Port Plaisance.

In terms of dimensions, the marina of Port Moselle is 8 meters deep allowing large boats (yachts up to 30 meters) can come to moor.

The Marina is the mandatory entry point for sailors who have to go there to settle the paperwork to get the “port authorization” during their stopover. Passing boaters should contact the captaincy at the Noumea approach to indicate their arrival with the necessary information (name and length of the boat, time of arrival). The call is to be renewed before entering port.

This is also the anchor of people living in Noumea to moor their boats.

Around the port

Inland, you’ll find all along the harbor small aligned blue huts housing the various activities offered to Nouméans and tourists: taxi-boats to get to neighboring islands, boating, sailboat rental … everything necessary to be able to explore the lagoon and its surroundings in the way you want.

In the district also named Port Moselle, are also the municipal market, the offices of the harbor as well as those of local governments (Southern Province and the Government of New Caledonia).
